Pastor “D” and Sis. Karen both have a long history with our church. Bro. “D” walked the aisle of the Titusville church on October 23, 1973 at the age of thirteen and accepted Christ as his Savior under the ministry of Bro. James Stepps. Pastor “D’s” future wife Karen was saved on July 2, 1978 here at the Titusville church under the ministry of Bro. Emil Allen. Bro. “D” and Sis. Karen were married on December 22, 1978 by Rev. Emil Allen in the old sanctuary of our church.
After serving in the United States Army for five years Bro. “D” and Sis. Karen returned to Titusville with their two children Nicole and Kyle. Both of their children accepted Christ while attending our church and are currently serving the Lord in the First Free Will Baptist church of Melbourne.
Bro. “D” was ordained as a Deacon in Titusville in October 2001 and served in that capacity until the Lord lead him and Sis. Karen to Melbourne in July of 2002 where he continued to serve as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Bro “D” answered the call to preach in July of 2003 and was ordained on December 17, 2006. Pastor “D” assumed the pastorate at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Titusville on December 24, 2006.
Pastor “D” has served the Lord for over twenty-five years in various capacities. He began teaching Adult Sunday School while stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He has served as a Deacon here in Titusville as well as in the Melbourne church. Pastor “D” has taught Sunday School classes for Senior Adults as well as Teens. He has spent the last several years serving as Youth camp teacher/counselor at Camp Sonshine. Since 2002 Pastor “D” has served as the Chairman of the Indian River Association’s Christian Education Board, and has served as a member of the Executive Committee. In 2003 Bro. “D” had the honor of serving on the mission field in Cuba as part of a short term mission trip.
Our Pastor has a long history with us here at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Titusville as well as the Indian River Association and believes that God has given him a rare opportunity to minister to his church family that he has known most of his life.
Bro. “D” believes in a “Team Ministry” where we all are committed to ministering to the lost and hurting of this world. He believes that God equips each church with people that possess the necessary talents to form a complete body necessary to minister to those around us. In order for the “Team Ministry” to be realized we each must be open and obedient to the will of God.
